PENTHOUSE FLEMING – Collina Fleming, Rome
Located on the top floor of a residential building, the Fleming Penthouse functioned mainly as a service access. In order to transform the dark, closed-off space into the bright, modern, and airy penthouse that it is today, the NOS team’s first goal was to completely reconfigure the floor plan. Through creative solutions that included moving some of the building’s utilities, an additional 35 square meters were added to the apartment’s total square meterage. The next step was to expand the windows and install a winter garden in order to take full advantage of the spectacular 360° views of the city. All windows and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors are fully glazed. The smart-controlled heating and cooling systems were hidden in built-in bookshelves that blend in seamlessly with the walls, creating a sleek and modern feel.
Top-of-the-line finishes were curated with the utmost attention to detail in accordance with the concept. Hand-washed oak floors from Menchinelli run throughout the apartment, and are accented by a tile border in the winter garden. The accent tiles were designed by NOS and custom-made by Ceramica Artistica Solimene, a famous producer of handmade ceramics from the Amalfi Coast. Meanwhile, tiles designed by Patricia Urquiola for Mutina inspired the color palette for the two spa-like bathrooms. In the kitchen, sleek white cabinets from Arrital fade into the walls, and become the perfect backdrop for the stunning view. Visual interest is provided by the custom mosaic backsplash designed by NOS from Mosaic del Sur. Outside, the large, central terrace and two private verandas are outfitted with smart LED mood lighting, and Marazzi Mystone Ardesia flooring, which offer all the benefits of synthetic flooring, while maintaining the aesthetic quality of natural stone.
The end result is luxury penthouse that fully takes advantage of the enviable location and stunning panoramas.
