The new lighting system of the Beata Vergine Immacolata Church in Torvaianica is a solution of continuity with the aim of redevelopment of the heart of the town started last year with the installation of the illuminated benches in Piazza Hungary and continued with the same installation in Piazza del Belvedere.
The project envisages the enhancement of the main façade of the Church through horizontal and vertical beams of grazing light, aimed at enhancing the stylistic and material characteristics of the architectural monument: enhancement of the Church, as enhancement of the Square, a meeting and socialization place in Torvaianica.
Specifically, and again with a view to making the Church the protagonist of the space, the project envisages direct lighting of the travertine strip, adjacent to the podium, thus characterizing the access to the building: the illuminated cladding in its dimensional diversity creates a play of light and shadow that underlines the representativeness of the liturgical function.
The use of wider beams of light frames the central oculus containing the cross so as to make it visible from a distance, almost as if it were a reminder of the city.
